Trade Quality Construction
JB's Wear are a professional trade quality product, the exact same used by commercial printers, ready for immediate printing (no washing first), that will also not resize after printing distorting your design. Consistent colour, size and quality is important, that's what JB's Wear supply.

Price Comparison
You will find cheaper Chinese Tee's online and in stores, however the quality of your garment reflects on the quality of your print and also your business reputation.

• Thin 140gsm Tees will not absorb as much ink leaving a thin print.
• Chinese Tee's often require washing first so the print does not resize after printing.
• Cheap Tees often 'claim' to be 100% cotton, however they in fact contain high levels of polyester - pull on it and watch them stretch like lycra!

Reduce Waste
Paying a small price for a trade quality garment with no wastage from poor construction/ quality saves costs. If your buying on price alone and not looking at the quality and smaller factors, your going about looking for a t-shirt to print all wrong.

Printing Cotton Garments

Both our Standard and Supercover inks will print directly onto cotton garments, plus all polyester/ cotton blends, without the need for a synthetic fixer or additive - as required in old generation inks.

For greater coverage and solid prints, we recommend printing garments elevated/ off contact style, as detailed in Information Sheet #34 available for download now.

For light colours Standard colours may be used, however we reccomend Supercover (including Metallics & Supercover Fluros) colours for solid areas and coverage.

Plastisol and other inks are also suitable for use - see manufacturers specifications and requirements.

Using Ink Additives (see Ink & Paint Menu)

Retarder - The most commonly used additive, mixed into all ink types, to increase the 'wetness' of the ink and avoid ink drying in the screen whilst printing (common with supercover inks). Adding Retarder may also increase the wetness of the ink and drying time after printing. Only a few drops are required per application.

Air Cure/ PolyProp Additive - will eliminate requirement for heat setting the garment after printing, however also reduces available print time between garments as breaks may cause ink to set in screen.
- Designed for printing polypropylene bags and polar fleece tops - synthetic materials which can not be heat set using heat contact (or they melt).
- Commonly used to print nylon, lycra and other synthetic items previously requiring careful or low temperature
- We recommend advanced printers use this additive only, or where traditional ink setting is unavailable.

Stretch Additive - Increase the elasticity of fabric inks by up to 20%. Suitable for use on elastane, lycra and stretch materials commonly found in activewear/ sportswear clothing.

Use Table Adhesive

Table Adhesive is pressure sensitive liquid which quickly dries to become adhesive under your materials and hold garment whilst printing.
- Improves print quality by holding the item still eliminates movement which causes smudges, blurring and misprints.
- Stops garment attaching to the screen or lifting is also critical when printing multiple colours, using supercover fabric inks and all off contact printing applications.

Solvent based spray cans put more adhesive into the air than on your board with high waste rates. Your spraying your money into the air.

Waterbased Table Adhesive is applied straight onto your surface, only a few drops required then spread around in the design area.
